Is this German game free?
Yes. It runs in your browser with no sign-up, no download, and no account.
Spelling a word out is harder than recognising it, and it is the direction you need when you actually want to say something. Work, travel, the city and the natural world. The next layer out. Every prompt carries the article, so the gender goes in with the word.
Catch the next correct letter to spell the German word for the English shown. A wrong letter costs a life, and you have 3. 85 nouns in this set.
Plays in your browser. No sign-up, no download.
Everything the game tests, in plain text, so you can read it first or revise without playing.

Neither, and any site telling you otherwise is guessing. The Goethe-Institut CEFR word lists are copyrighted and cannot be reproduced, so these are hand-picked everyday nouns grouped by how early you are likely to meet them.
Because a German noun without its gender is only half learned. Meeting Tisch as der Tisch every time is far more effective than learning the word now and the gender later.
